Every year, our acting studio community comes together for a weekend of relaxed and focused creating, learning, and community in a beautiful location away from Los Angeles. Studying acting, filmmaking, the industry, and story together, hikes, games, yoga, meditation, celebrations, cooking and dining out together, hot tubs, and much more. The experience is one-of-a-kind. If you’re part of our class family, we invite you to join us.
In 2018, we held it in Big Bear. 2019 was Idylwyld.
We skipped 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID health emergency.
We came back in 2022 at Lake Arrowhead. 2023 was at Palomar Mountain.
This year, we’re doing something really unique: The Storytellers Conservatory 2024 5th Annual Retreat will be held at:
The Acreage in Osceola, Wisconsin, September 27th-30th.
Located on 360 acres of woodland and prairie habitat on the bluffs above the St. Croix River, The Acreage at Osceola embodies the vision and legacy left by Horst Rechelbacher, founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients. (It’s his former estate.)
Cost for all three nights: $200 for shared bed or $400 for your own bed in a shared bedroom.
YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK YOUR OWN FLIGHT. Flights on Sun Country Airlines as low as $200 roundtrip from LAX to MSP.
We will organize carpool rides from the airport (MSP) to The Acreage. Or feel free to rent your own car. It’s an hour drive.

What to bring: Whatever you would pack for a three day trip, games, etc. plus any specific food you want or need. We will have basic food items stocked.
Typical Schedule:
Friday - fly in, ride/drive to The Acreage, settle in, meet people, welcome & orientation meeting, free time.
Saturday - hike/yoga, brekkie, acting class, lunch, acting class cont’d, group dinner, free time.
Sunday - hike/yoga, brekkie, acting class, lunch, workshops or lectures, group dinner, wrap up meeting & ceremony, free time.
Monday - clean up, departure, ride/drive to airport, & fly home.
